McCain Weight In On Iraq Bill

Senator John McCain recently said the he thinks President Bush’s war in Iraq is a “Great Tragedy,” but refused to back the Democratic parties Bill to have the stoops return and end this war. This seems like a pretty risky statement for McCain, who is a Republican presidential candidate, because many of the hardcore republicans are in favor of the war due to their love for George W. Bush. I think that this comment will cause McCain to lose many votes since he is opposing the main reason why many people will vote for a Republican candidate…the War in Iraq. On the other hand in think that these comments show that McCain is a candidate that is willing to stand up for his personal beliefs regardless of if they oppose the positions that his party is running on. These comments prove that McCain does have a heart and is looking out for all Americans and wants to ensure their safety. Lastly, even though McCain makes theses comments he says later in his speech that if the American troops were to pull out of Iraq it would only cause chaos and more problems for the American government and its people.
