US Congressman, Harry Reid, said on Thursday that we are losing the war in Iraq against terrorism and that we should not hesitate to pull our troop out and to send more in would be a moronic move. He said sending in more troops towards a losing effort would be like what Lyndon B. Johnson did so many years ago during the Vietnam War; he sent in large amounts of troops essentially to die so that he would not have America’s only losing war on his shoulders. Reid does make a very strong point that sending in more troops would only be sending them to their death, because after over two years of s
ending in troops the army has accomplished nothing; there is no peace and no strong government. On the other hand Reid should have never made these comments; especially right after a suicide bomber killed 200 people in Baghdad, because it makes all the troops in Iraq fell as though their friends are dying for nothing. By making these comments he belittles all of the actions of the soldiers in Iraq, and sort of shames those who died fighting for our country. Reid should keep his mouth shut when talking about the war, unless he is going to say “I support our troops.”
