After a few short days into his two week suspension Don Imus finds himself outside on the streets without a job as MSNBC reacts to the protestors in front of their studios; all of this was started when Imus made racially slurring comments about the University of Rutgers women’s basketball team. President of NBC, Steve Capus, said he took no joy in firing
Imus, but this time he had crossed the line with him comments and this was the only way to make things right. Now there is one positive still out there for Imus, even though his MSNBC show was taken of the air, his nationally syndicated radio show will still be on the air…at least until CBS takes action. I understand why he was fired but there is still one thing that bothers me, Capus claimed Imus was fired because of his comments, but in the article it stated that man of the shows sponsors pulled their ads from it. This seems like it is the main reason why Imus was fired, because as we all know its about the money, and I think they tried to mask Imus firings with his inability to respond to the protestors with an honest apology.
