Iraq Withdrawl Bill Awaits Bush

Well its official the bill to withdraw our troops from the destruction in Iraq passed congress today and is on its was to the President for his apparent veto of this bill, because he doesn’t believe that the army has done their job in Iraq and doesn’t want them home until they do so. Reid and the Democratic majority in congress passed the bill today with the threat of President Bush’s presidential veto looming large but they said they were doing what the American people wanted, bring back their sons and fathers from terror. Reid also claims that since Bush went into Iraq with only wanting to stop terrorisms, which is very broad and hard to stop, we should pull the troops out since that goals will never be accomplished.. On the other hand Bush has the right to want to veto this bill, because if it was to pass him, and his followers, would feel as though they ailed in Iraq and it would leave Iraq in a state of emergency. Also I agree with him and the democratic senate leader when they said they don’t support and exact time line, but they do want to bring the troops back when Iraq has a government, and until that happens more terrorist attacks could come.

McCain Weight In On Iraq Bill

Senator John McCain recently said the he thinks President Bush’s war in Iraq is a “Great Tragedy,” but refused to back the Democratic parties Bill to have the stoops return and end this war. This seems like a pretty risky statement for McCain, who is a Republican presidential candidate, because many of the hardcore republicans are in favor of the war due to their love for George W. Bush. I think that this comment will cause McCain to lose many votes since he is opposing the main reason why many people will vote for a Republican candidate…the War in Iraq. On the other hand in think that these comments show that McCain is a candidate that is willing to stand up for his personal beliefs regardless of if they oppose the positions that his party is running on. These comments prove that McCain does have a heart and is looking out for all Americans and wants to ensure their safety. Lastly, even though McCain makes theses comments he says later in his speech that if the American troops were to pull out of Iraq it would only cause chaos and more problems for the American government and its people.

"Southern" A Language?

I think that the critics need to leave Hillary alone and give this whole “southern twang” a rest, so she may have faked a southern accent to get more to like her in order to have more people vote for her…she could have done much worse. In the past I'm sure that other politician’s have lied or faked something about their campaign issues, which is a huge issue when compared to the way in which you speak, with her actions people are still voting for her based on her stances on certain political ideas and not because of her accent. The part of this that I find amusing is that she is actually from the south, Alabama, and therefore she should have some sort of a southern accent in her speech. On the other hand if she is in-fact faking her southern speech, because she has never talked this way before, I think that is horrible because what she is doing is exploiting the voters in the south and lying to them. The other part that was horrible is that she only tends to talk this way in front of black audiences, what kind of message is this sending them…I'm going to talk down to because I don’t think you would be able to understand otherwise.

If Democrats Win in 08...World Will Come To An End

"Then Sept. 11, 2001, happened, and we got it. (Giuliani)" This is the claim by Presidential candidate Rudolf Giuliani about how the Republic party has been able to control the war against terrorism since the 9/11 attack; the problem is what exactly have we “got.” From what I have seen, by watching the news, all we caught was a leader who had no weapons of mass destruction, and we got ourselves hated by the rest of the world because of the turmoil we have caused in Iraq. Also, Giuliani claimed that only the republicans will be able to end the terrorist problem by using offense and all the democrats want to do is pull back and use defense; this also seemed like one big article about how Giuliani wanted to plug his own candidacy. Even though I think this who article is crap and is only an attempt for Giuliani to push his run for presidency, he does make a few good point about how if the democrats won they would go on the defensive. If this was top happen they would retract all the troops and efforts they had put into Iraq make all their actions useless since they didn’t get to finish their job. Also by going on the defensive we are saying that the situation in Iraq is not our problem and this can only cause more harm to our country in the future…we need to stop terrorism now and swiftly to ensure it doesn’t start up again and do more damage to our country.

Bush To Veto Congress's Actions

President Bush has ever right to want to veto congresses actions with regards to the bill they have created, making time table for bringing back the troops from Iraq, because the reputation of his presidency is on the line with this endless war. If the troops were brought back before Bush declared they had finished the job they were sent there accomplish, it would leave a sour taste in all of his fellow republicans mouths, not to mention the troops that are stationed in Iraq now… apparently for nothing. By bringing the troops back before they are done you, The Democrats, are saying that they have accomplished all they can in Iraq, which is not true; by leaving you will leave Iraq in turmoil and that could possibly lead to another “war.” On the other hand these troops deserve to come home after all the fruitless time they have spent in Iraq dying for oil and to keep Bush from having a bad mark on his Presidential record. Bush doesn’t want to accept this time table because in doing so it would admit that his idea to go to Iraq was wrong, since nothing has been accomplished in almost 2 years. Lastly, Harry Reid claims that the troops still in Iraq are not fighting our war, but in fact they are fighting an Iraqi civil war and dying for causes they don’t understand…this is why they need to come home and leave Iraq’s civil war to themselves

According To Bush: Tides Turning In Iraq...What A Suprise

According to President Bush’s most recent speech about the war in Iraq, he claims that sending more troops to Iraq is what is going to finally end this war and allow the military to send the remaining troops home for good…if only it was true. To send more troops to their death, in Iraq, will only bring down the US citizen support for Bush’s war in Iraq, not that it was very high anyways, but regardless of that no more lives should be lost fighting this never ending war. President Bush should be working on a time table for removing troops from Iraq, they are not fighting for the US any more but are in the middle of an Iraq civil war in which they are dying for no good cause. Even though I criticize President Bush’s plan to send more troops to Iraq, if this is what it’s going to take to end this war on Terrorism or Oil, I think that we should send in more troops. The fresh troops will not only revitalize the derailed military forces in Iraq, but they will also add a moral boost to the troops fighting there now, it will show them that what they are fighting for is still important and a major concern of the United States.

I think this quote by Bush summarizes everything that is going on with the Iraq war:

"It's natural to wish there was an easy way out, that we could just pack up and bring our troops home and be safe. Yet in Iraq, the easy road would be a road to disaster. The price of giving up there would be paid in American lives for years to come,"

Congress Shows No Support For Armed Forces

Finally…some one stepped up to Bush and appealed to congress that this war is a ridiculous idea and by keeping it going you are only costing US military personnel their lives by having them fight in a losing effort. I think that Congressman Reid’s push to remove all the troops is a good thing because it will save a lot more lives than people realize; also it shows a lot of poise to continue with his bill even after the President said he would veto any time table set to remove the troops from Iraq. Although this bill is a great idea I think he went a little far with the “add-ons” when he requested 25 billion dollars, as if our country isn’t in enough debt from this war, for Hurricane Katrina help, Medicare for returning troops, and relief for the recent farm disasters. Reid should only worry about one problem at a time and right now that problem is how to get the troops back and in one piece; in the future I think these extra propositions will limit how fast this bill gets passes. Lastly, the other problem I see with removing troops from Iraq, is that if we leave Iraq now, while it is in turmoil, I think it will cause more problems for the United States in the future…from which another “war” like this may occur.

Bush Slammed Again

US Congressman, Harry Reid, said on Thursday that we are losing the war in Iraq against terrorism and that we should not hesitate to pull our troop out and to send more in would be a moronic move. He said sending in more troops towards a losing effort would be like what Lyndon B. Johnson did so many years ago during the Vietnam War; he sent in large amounts of troops essentially to die so that he would not have America’s only losing war on his shoulders. Reid does make a very strong point that sending in more troops would only be sending them to their death, because after over two years of sending in troops the army has accomplished nothing; there is no peace and no strong government. On the other hand Reid should have never made these comments; especially right after a suicide bomber killed 200 people in Baghdad, because it makes all the troops in Iraq fell as though their friends are dying for nothing. By making these comments he belittles all of the actions of the soldiers in Iraq, and sort of shames those who died fighting for our country. Reid should keep his mouth shut when talking about the war, unless he is going to say “I support our troops.”

If It's Not Born Can It Exist?

Should abortion be up to the person it affects…Yes. Should abortion be regulated by the government…Yes. Within all of this the problem is finding a balance between the two since each side believes it has the one and only answer. The antiabortionists do make many very strong points about how after a certain time the mother should be obligated to have the fetus, because if she hasn’t decided to rid herself of it by now she should have to live with her decisions. They also seem to harp on the saying that if you were aborted how would you feel in this whole debate? Hell if I was aborted I probably would even care because I would have never been alive to listen to their bogus statements. Also in the new legislation it doesn’t even motion how there should be certain acceptations if the mother’s life is in jeopardy, regardless of what trimester the fetus is in the mother’s heath and safely should always be put ahead of the unborn fetuses. Lastly I think the reason why this piece of legislation was pushed through was because it had the compete backing of President Bush; therefore it had the approval of every Christian in the House.

Bill Beats Hillary...but With Obama's Help

Finally something went wrong with the Democratic Party’s candidates’ run for presidency, controversy has sprung up within the Clinton campaign after recently finding out that many of her husbands supporters are now changing their mind and backing Presidential candidate Obama. The numbers of donators and how much they donated was released last week and it showed that at least a dozen of Bill Clinton’s high donating people have decided to give their money to Obama,; possibly a signal that their trust in Hillary is gona, and Obama is going to win the Democratic bid for President. In my opinion how much certain people donate should not be public records now or ever, I think it should stay within the party to protect certain peoples secrecy with their donations. Lastly, I find it ironic that even after Obama and his campaign affiliates said they got many of Hillary’s potential donations, they are still in debt in a excess of two hundred thousand dollars.

Terror at Virginia Tech

This morning at Virginia Tech there was a shooting in one of the dorms by an Asian male, who is still unidentified because of his later actions, and the school was not immediately put on lock down or closed. 2 hours later the gunman opened up fire again in a classroom on the other side of campus, when all the smoke was gone he had killed 32 students and himself. At about 1 today President Bush made a speech expressing his sorrow for the students, I was surprised that it only later 3-5 minutes; I would have expected more as this was the largest shooting in US history. The other problem I have with this situation is how come the school wasn’t immediately shut down and the students in class notified, the Dean and chief of police said it was because they had the situation under control…that happened. I think they made a vital mistake that cost 31 families their sons or daughters; if the school or the police station was to be sued over this it would not surprise me at all…I would for their irresponsible actions.

Rapper Weighs In on Imus Firing

Yes what Imus did was terrible and I agree with Snoop Dog on that, but I don’t believe that he should have been fired for his comments…because that’s all they were, comments protected under the first amendment in the constitution. I also agree that Imus has no right to make these comments ever, even if jokingly, because he is white and sadly to say those types of comments are reserved for black people; it’s the same with Mexicans and the word “beaner.” While I agree with Snoops comments who the hell is he to stand up for the rights of black women after all he does in his songs is bring them down and call them worse things than “nappy headed hoes.” We are supposed to listen to someone who just got charged with possession of a concealed weapon, and we are supposed to value his comments, there is something very wrong with our culture if that is true. Snoop dog should shut his mouth because he is no better than Imus, who should have just apologized and accepted the consequences given to him.

Duke Boys Free as Prosecutor is Sued

Finally, after almost a year in trial the three Duke Lacrosse players had their charges dropped against them after the Prosecutors felt no further need to move on; why all of a sudden would this happen you ask? Now normally there are two sides to my argument for what is happening in the story I'm reporting on, but in this case there is to positives for the prosecutors action…they ruined theses three kids life’s forever and not to mention got their coach fired last year. What the prosecutors did was down right evil, they persisted with the idea that these kids raped those stripes and continue on with the cases even without any true hard facts. I truly hope that these state prosecutors get what is coming to them, and are bared from practicing law again in any state.

Imus Finally out...As MSNBC Reacts

After a few short days into his two week suspension Don Imus finds himself outside on the streets without a job as MSNBC reacts to the protestors in front of their studios; all of this was started when Imus made racially slurring comments about the University of Rutgers women’s basketball team. President of NBC, Steve Capus, said he took no joy in firing Imus, but this time he had crossed the line with him comments and this was the only way to make things right. Now there is one positive still out there for Imus, even though his MSNBC show was taken of the air, his nationally syndicated radio show will still be on the air…at least until CBS takes action. I understand why he was fired but there is still one thing that bothers me, Capus claimed Imus was fired because of his comments, but in the article it stated that man of the shows sponsors pulled their ads from it. This seems like it is the main reason why Imus was fired, because as we all know its about the money, and I think they tried to mask Imus firings with his inability to respond to the protestors with an honest apology.

Obama Calls For Imus's Firing

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has every right to want Don Imus fired for the extremely racist remarks he made on the air; Obama was also upset because the remarks furthered a very racist stereotype of black female athletes. He said later in the interview that he wants his daughters to grow up in a world were they can play basketball without being held down by derogatory stereotypes, “He fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America. The notions that as young African-American women — who I hope will be athletes — that that somehow makes them less beautiful or less important. It was a degrading comment. It's one that I'm not interested in supporting (Obama, Barack).” Now Obama has the right to be pissed but what about the first amendment rights that all Americans have doesn’t that count for anything? The other thing that didn’t seem right was that Obama wanted the people to find a way to stop intoxicating our kids with this filth, there is no way to do that eventually someone is going to teach them its just how life goes. Some might say its an important part of becoming an adult, learning these things young so that as you grow you will grow up with the knowledge of what is right form what is wrong. Lastly what really didn’t sit kosher with me was Obama’s statement about how he wants his daughters to be athletes…to me that seems like he is furthering another negative stereotype himself.

The Mormans Lash Out...Maybe Some Coffee Would Have Stopped This

I completely understand what the Brigham Young students are feeling, about how they don’t want someone to speak at their school that would cause controversy, because who wants to be told how to succeed by someone who committed crimes against the nation he represents. Last time I checked, however, Mormons practice “Learning to forgive and forget.” So why this circumstance is any different is beyond me; let Cheney speak at your school, for god sakes he is the Vice President of the United States…that’s got to count for something.

Time To Chill Mr. Sharpton

Even though I agree with Al Sharpton and the fact that Imus’s comments were a little out of line, I do believe that he and the representative form Rutgers blew it way out or proportion; others could have made the same jokes but since Imus has a history of these comments, Sharpton wanted him of the air for good. I mean why people don’t go after the creators of South Park is beyond me, they make comments of the same magnitude, if not worse, and everybody just laughs along with them. Also, later in the interview Imus said “I can't get anywhere with you people,” and Al Sharpton assumed that the “you” was black people, which is a horrible way to think about the world…if you only think people can do wrong then why bother talking to them.
