Senate Puts Off Immigration Action

Senate leaders agreed Monday that they would wait until June to take final action on a bipartisan plan to give millions of unlawful immigrants legal status. I think this was a good move by the Senate to push off this bill and deliberate on it starting after Memorial Day, by doing this they have opened up the floor to others who see problems with this bill; by doing ths they are able to amend the bill to please the majority of the people voting on it. I think that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said it the best: "I think we could, but I'm afraid the conclusion wouldn't be anything that anyone wanted.” Even though I may disagree with certain points in this bill, like giving illegal immigrants citizens status, I think this bill needs to be passed as soon as possible for the sake of all immigrants and American citizens. This bill will do a lot to help out county right now, it will secure our borders better in an effort to end the whole illegal immigrant problem and by giving American status to illegal immigrants we can tax them and have it contribute to the economy.

"For each of us who crafted it, there are elements that we strongly support and elements we believe could be improved. No one believes this is a perfect bill,"
---THEN WHY PASS IT ??????????????
