Democracts Whimp Out

Yesterday, after the overturn of the veto by congress failed, President Bush and the Democratic members of congress discussed a second bill that they both would have input on and this would ensure that the bill would pass without the threat of a Presidential veto. The reason why the Democrats decided to take this action is because their bill failed 222 to 203 in the House, and as everyone who owns a TV knows it was heavily and quickly vetoed by President Bush; however they still want the troops home, but have to take a different approach at it now. The main thing that the Democrats will have to give up is their time line for the end of the war and to bring troops home, which was the only reason why they proposed the Bill to congress. Since this has been taken out of the bill I have a hard time seeing exactly what the Democrats want to try and do with President Bush.

"We made our position clear. He made his position clear. Now it is time for us to try to work together…But make no mistake: Democrats are committed to ending this war." (House Speaker Nancy Pelosi)
